The School KFI strives to create and sustain an atmosphere of learning so that children, in J Krishnamurti’s words, may “flower in goodness.” The main objectives of this exercise were to improve user experience, enhance accessibility, increase engagement, and improve mobile compatibility.
The old website was built on outdated technology, making integrating modern systems difficult. The school’s existing needed to be seamlessly integrated into the new website without data loss. The website also had a lot of information, which required organising, updating, and migrating to the new site, which required significant effort. After careful planning and analysis, the development team chose WordPress as the content management system with Elementor Pro as the theme builder, which could be easily accessible by teachers and admin staff to update content and blog.
Redeveloping a school website comes with various challenges, from technology integration to user training and budget constraints. However, with careful planning, focus on accessibility and effective user support, these challenges were successfully addressed and well-executed website redevelopment significantly enhanced user experience engagement, and accessibility.
